Victoria Azarenka advance to finals TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships on Saturday by defeating Vera Zvonareva – one of her most difficult opponents – comfortably in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

“I really tried to change my mentality from yesterday. It was a bit of a disaster,” Azarenka said. “I’m glad I turned it around and came out strong today.”

She broke serve three times in the first set, including once at love. There were some tough moments in the 59-minute second set, including a marathon six-deuce fourth game where Zvonareva defied four break points to hold for 2-all, but Azarenka got a late break and served it out, her fourth win in their 10 meetings.

Petra Kvitova is opposed to Azarenka in the final, they will fight for their title but will also become the world’s No.2 player, if one of them successfully become champion in the BNP Paribas TEB WTA Championships this time.

The Czech – who started the year outside the Top 30 but is now No.3 with a bullet – battled past Samantha Stosur on Saturday and is now one win away from the trophy at the prestigious $4.9-million event. The No.3-ranked Petra Kvitova, stop fighting the U.S. Open champion Samantha Stosur with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 in the first semifinal.

“Sam was serving very well today, so it was key I was able to break her in the second and third sets,” Kvitova said. “It was getting very tough at the end. I had 5-0 and then she was playing very fast, hitting many winners. It was getting tough to concentrate on my service games. You never know what will happen when you play top players. But I served great the last game.”
